Chris, a 34-year veteran in advertising and marketing, began his career as a Media Trainee with Young & Rubicam, New York. At Y&R he eventually became a Media Supervisor on accounts such as Gulf Oil, Milton Bradley and Time Inc.  In 1975, Chris went to work for Tracy-Locke, Dallas as an Associate Media Director. There he was responsible for media planning and buying for 15 clients, including the company’s two largest, Frito-Lay and Phillips Petroleum.

Chris then moved to the client side, working for Campbell Soup Company as Manager of Advertising Services. There he was responsible for media planning on all soup brands and the Pepperidge Farm, Vlasic and Swanson food brands. His duties also included directing network broadcast purchasing by all of Campbell’s agencies of record.

Chris became an Atlanta resident in 1981 when McCann-Erikson hired him as Vice President, Media Director. As a member of the Executive Committee and new business team he was instrumental in directing the company’s media planning and buying department. He later went to work for Burton-Campbell, Inc., also as the Vice President, Media Director, before co-founding Kohler & Miller, Inc. in 1985.

In its 23 years, K&M has worked for several local, regional and national clients, including International Paper, Campbell’s Soup, Chick-Fil-A, Wal-Mart Vision Centers, Georgia-Pacific and Cox Cable. The company has also planned and bought media for several political campaigns, both local and on a statewide basis.

Chris earned a BA in Political Science from Dickinson College. He and his wife of thirty years, Karen, raised three children.  Chris is a native New Yorker, avid golfer, tennis player and swimmer. He is a member of the West Point Parents Club and serves as the Atlanta alumni representative to Dickinson College. He is the author of a book published in 2004 entitled “Blood on my Briefcase: 30 Years in the Advertising Wars.”
